Soothing Oatmeal Scrub-
Using oats to exfoliate the face is extremely easy and cheap! Not only is it natural and leaves your skin feeling soft, it also absorbs and removes all the surface dirt and impurities on your face whilst leaving your skin nourished and hydrated. This type of exfoliation has been known to soothe sunburn, dry, flaky skin and even acne. It is ideal for those who have sensitive skin and can't really use some of the products that the store has to offer. So how do you make it?...
Combine 1 tablespoon of ground oats, with a pinch of salt (flaked salt is best for exfoliating but it is much more expensive), 1/2 a teaspoon of water and 1/2 a teaspoon of olive oil. Mix to a paste.
How to use...
Rub the mixture onto your skin using circular motions. Leave it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse of the face. Dab face dry with a clean towel.
Anti Inflammatory Coffee Scrub-

Coffee is excellent at exfoliating, It contains caffeic acid which is a stimulant to the skin, much like it is to the body. It has anti- inflammatory properties that will make your skin look fresh, less puffy and it can also help with irritated skin.
So how do you make it?
Combine 1 tablespoon of ground up coffee beans, 1/2 a teaspoon of water and 1/2 a teaspoon of olive oil. Mix to a paste.
How to use...
Rub the mixture onto your skin using circular motions. Leave on your face for 5 to 20 minutes and rinse off. Dab face dry with a clean towel.
Nourishing Sugar Scrub-
Sugar is one of the most used ingredients in DIY scrubs, and there is a reason for it... It is one of the best things to use as it really DOES work! Using raw sugar or brown sugar is best, castor sugar also works effectively but I prefer the raw sugar as it is a lot more grittier which is a good thing when it comes to a scrub. This sugar scrub nourishes the skin, making it feel soft and smooth.

So how do you make it?
Combine 1 tablespoon of sugar (any of the ones talked about above) with a small amount of honey, around about a half a teaspoon (more can be added it's really up to you) and a squeeze of lemon juice. Mix to a gritty paste, add more sugar if it is too loose or add more honey if it is too thin.
How to use...
Rub the scrub onto your face very gently as it is very important that you don't scrub too roughly. Leave on your face for 5 to 10 minutes and rinse off. Dab face dry with a clean towel.
Baking Soda Scrub-
This is probably the most simple of the scrubs, it is very easy to make using only 2 ingredients that almost everyone should have in there house. This scrub is known to have effective results against blackheads giving you a nicer complexion.
So how do you make it?
Combine a teaspoon of baking soda with a couple of drops of water. Mix to a paste. You can also put a teaspoon of baking soda in your facial cleanser and receive simular results to the scrub.
How to use...
Lightly exfoliate into the skin using circular motions, rinse off after 5 to 10 minutes. If combined with your facial cleanser, follow the same directions on the bottle.
Hydrating Yogurt Scrub-
This is my favourite out of all the scrubs, it hydrates the skin and makes it feel nourished, smooth and soft. Sadly this scrub cannot be kept and needs to be used immediately, but it is so easy and its made with ingredients that are bound to be in a persons kitchen so making it anytime shouldn't be much of a problem.
Simply combine a tablespoon of natural unsweetened yogurt (with no flavouring) with 2 teaspoons of oats that have been pulsed to a fine powder and a teaspoon of honey. Mix until all combined.
How to use...
Spread mixture all over face and lightly scrub, focusing on areas prone to dry, flaky skin. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes, rinse and dab dry with a clean towel.
NOTE: Always moisturise after all these scrubs. They are suitable for all skin types only some work better for others.
