PLEASE READ -
I know I haven't been posting lately but I have had some troubles with my pictures so that's why this 'summer' post is going up in autumn... but anyway I apologise for this being so late but all the pictures (except 1) are now loading. Thanks for being patient! and I hope you find this post helpful! xx

Seeing as it is summer here in Australia I wanted to show you what essentials I use and recommend in the hotter months. Now some days here it is so unbelievably hot there is no point in wearing make up. It just melts right off! I tend to wear less make up and keep it very simple but fresh and bright so it still has a summery feel to it.

Now as a base I choose not to go for a foundation as even the lightest weighted seem to crumble under the heat (sometimes literally). I find myself wearing my beloved BB Creme most, a personal favourite of mine being this one from Garnier- in the normal formula. It gives a nice glow and looks quite natural as it basically a tinted moisturiser. BB actually stands for Blemish Balm so not only does it do wonders for the appearance of your skin, it is actually helping it at the same time! Other things that I have also turned to this summer have been CC creams (Colour Correcting) they are slightly higher coverage than the BB Creme and helps even out the discolouration tones of your complexion. Also a tip of you get a little more tan over this period so your base no longer matches your face colour, you can use a tint. A tint is a must have in your make up collection, you can wear it mixed in, over, under your foundation or just by itself as a waterproof skin finish, you could even use it as a liquid contour if you go for a darker shade. This one from Australis is an affordable dupe for Mac's face and body. *image not available*

Concealer, as always a very important step for bright, wide awake eyes. My all time favourite concealer is by Rimmel and it is the Wake Me Up concealer, I'm a massive fan of the foundation but I love the concealer that little bit more, like the foundation it has anti-fatigue properties so it really does brighten up your face. It is also really affordable and readily available.

Bronzer, a no brainer in a summery look. It adds definition to shadowed points in the face or a natural glow. In the summer I lay of contouring and just add a little bronzer to my temples and cheeks. Summer is all about dewy glowy skin, by using a tiny bit of bronzer it really does lift the look. I tend to go for one with a little shimmer but not too much as it may wash you out a bit. This product from Maybelline is perfect for spring and summer. Despite it's overwhelming grandma make up smell it is an all round great bronzer but beware. DO NOT CONTOUR using this product, it is far to orange and shimmery for a contour.
Powder, now because of my excessively dry skin I hardly ever powder, even in the summer heat. But I swear by this product to mattify my face when I need it, now there is so much rave about this product and if you have tried it you can see why. The infamous Stay Matte powder by Rimmel. You have probably heard a lot about it so I won't go on but I have it in the shade translucent which means even if you develop a tan you can still wear it and it will match your skin tone as it is translucent.
Brows, I for one take pride in my eyebrows so they are a step that cannot be skipped no matter how hot it is, even if it's that hot that they might end up down your cheeks. It is quite difficult to make your brows stay all day in the heat, I use either a eyebrow gel to set my regular brows (I use a powder from Face Of Australia to fill them in) or a tint. I haven't really found a tint that I'm a fan of yet but I have been meaning to try one by Benefit and Australis.

Eyeshadow, I keep quite minimal in the summer and use a simple cream shadow all over my lid, I sometimes work a bit of bronzer into my crease to soften the look and make it look a bit tidier. My favourite cream products have to be the Maybelline Colour tattoos, they have serious longevity and are just so creamy, easy to apply and blend, and they are really affordable too. They also come in a good variety of shades, a personal favourite of mine being Bad to the Bronze or from their metal collection, Barely Branded. A new found favourite cream shadow of mine is a duo that Australis have brough out, I must say I am really impressed with the product but the colour range is definitely a let down.

Mascara, I always wear a water proof mascara but in the summer it is a must as the humidity will completely ruin your look if you have mascara everywhere. Nowerdays there is a huge range of waterproof mascaras, you can get your favourite mascara just in the water proof formula so you don't have to adapt to using a completely different one. My current favorite is the Maybelline Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara, I have also done a review here on my blog so check it out if you havent already.

Lips, seeing as the eyes are so subtle and very simple a good idea is to have a bright lip, you might not be a fan of wearing lipstick in the heat buy don't fret because there are other alternatives, in which I actually prefer. I do wear the odd lipstick during summer but my favorite has to be by the Kate Moss Rimmel collection in 07 (Lasting Finish) it's this gorgeous pink, it looks nude in the packaging but on your lips it's this relatively natural pink, perfect for summer and spring. Ever since I purchased these, they have been literally all I ever wear! They are probably the best things I have ever purchased (make up wise) and they are the Bourjois Colour Boost. I have them in all shades (sadly there is only 4). Red Sunrise, a simple bright red, a very versatile colour as you can make it look as intense as you want by layering it up or wearing another product underneath. Orange Punch, not as scary as you may think, its actually a quite natural colour, I was disappointed and delighted by this particular shade, I love the colour but I also want Bourjois to release a really orange shade, like Mac's Morange only in the form of a lip crayon. Fuschia Libre, an incredibly pigmented fuchsia that brightens up any look and finally Peach on the Beach, a lovely light pink that can be built up to create a bright yet natural pop of colour.

If you follow these tips and essentials then I'm sure you will look flawless all summer. I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did I would love to know! Comment down below, oh and also if you want a similar post to this but for another season, I'll be more that willing to do it for you!

Thanks for reading, it means a lot!
Have a good day, love youuuuu
