The Green Juice Recipe

It being New Years, I can only expect a few of you have that resolution to get healthy- for the 6th consecutive year (am I right? or am I right?). We all want to be healthy but we are constantly updated about what's the next new superfood and how much kale a person needs to consume in a day which can get a bit excessive. I too would love to start eating a better, healthier, more balanced diet but I can't say I'm keen to eat bee pollen and roasted insects. So today, I have prepared for you a recipe for the ever so Instagram popular green juice.

There is no kale or dirt to be found in this juice, nothing much more than the ingredients lying around your kitchen that a day to day non Pete Evans person would have. This recipe is extremely basic, so feel free to add extra ingredients to taste.

Ingredients:
- 125ml 100% Apple juice (I used PreshaFruit Granny Smith apple juice as it's the only apple juice I like)
- 1 handful of spinach
- 125ml water
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 green apple
- 1/4 of a Cucumber

Method:
Cut up ingredients into manageable pieces for your blender. I like to grate my apple.
Blitz the apple, cucumber, spinach and apple juice in the blender till no large solids remain
Add ice and a small amount of the water - depending on the texture you want you can add more or less.
Blend again until ice has broken down and the colour of the juice is consistent.
Pour into a large glass and serve chilled with a straw.

I hope you enjoy this recipe. I know it's not the healthiest, greenest juice out there but it actually tastes half decent. There are plenty of recipes out there including spirulina and all that other pond crap, but if you're struggling to hold that down, try this recipe just to get your body used to the intense greenery.

All my love,
Clarissa x
