Nutella Stuffed Baked Donuts

Unless you are currently in Australia, you may not have heard about the news. The news about the Nutella. Australia is at a shortage of their Nutella supply. LIFE IS OVER! But not quite. The reason for this shortage is because of the current foodie trend of Nutella Stuffed Donuts. Yes you read that correctly. Donuts. Stuffed. With. Nutella.

I thought I would give this little trend a go because I am forever looking for more ways to eat Nutella other than straight out the jar- not that there's anything wrong with that!

So here is my super simple Nutella Stuffed Baked Donuts!

Ingredients
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of caster sugar, + 1/4 cup (or so) to roll in
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
1/4 cup of butter, softened
1/4 cup of milk
1 egg
1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of cinnamon, to roll in
1/2 cup of Nutella or other chocolate hazelnut spread

Preheat oven to 180 degrees fan forced

Cream together the butter and sugar with an elextric mixer till pale and fluffy.

Add in egg, mix till completely combined.

Add in vanilla and milk. Continue mixing.

Gently fold in the sifted flour and baking powder until just combined. Do not overwork the batter.

Pour batter into piping bag with a nozzle the size of the cake pop mould hole.

Squeeze batter into the cake pop mould until full. Clean up any spills over the sides.

Cook in oven for 15 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

Once cooked, remove the donuts from the moulds and roll immediately into a plate of the mixed sugar and cinnamon and toss to coat.

Pierce a decent size hole in the donut with the end of a spoon. Once the hole is large enough, you can then pipe your Nutella into the hole.

Serve and eat immediately. Enjoy!

There we have it! A Nutella fix to keep you going while you wait for the next shipment of the choc hazelnut goodness to hit Australia.

Will you be scraping down the sides of your Nutella jar to make these sweet little treats? Let me know!

All my love xx
Clarissa
